FBC voted unanimously in it's 2008 annual business meeting to finance and implement a facilities overhaul.
We are building to better minister to your family!
In April of 2008, FBC began the first phase of her building renovation and expansion plan. Phase one includes renovating the existing auditorium and basement and erecting a separate structure for a fellowship hall.
The purpose in renovating auditorium is to provide more practical worship space and to meet immediate need of greater Sunday School space. All auditorium renovations allow for eventual phase two usage of the space therefore the renovation is geared to eventually be used as such.
The basement of the existing building has been renovated with minimal new construction and is now being used as exclusively children’s space.
The existing nursery has been enlarged to include desperately needed crib and play space.
An entry way has been be created at the drop-off counter.
A new toddler nursery/classroom has been created.
The common area/kitchen has been turned into 2 restrooms.
The former toddler rooms have become office space.
The remaining kitchen area was converted into mechanical room.
A new structure will be constructed adjacent to our existing building. It will serve as a fellowship hall and multi purpose space.
It will include: Kitchen, Bathrooms, classrooms, versatile flooring with an “AWANA circle."
The fellowship hall construction is waiting till after one last meeting in July with the planning commission. Ground will be broke by mid July.
Phase two will commence when average Sunday auditorium attendance fills 80% (164) of current space.
It will divide the current auditorium into 5 large Sunday School rooms. We will then construct an addition to the fellowship hall to house a new 300 hundred seat auditorium.
Both phases have been designed simultaneously by the architect. We look forward to the soon completion of this plan, allowing us to reach the maximum potential of our existing property!
